There was this bunch of line art centaur drawings that I did a millennium or so ago as a trade for a really swell piece of sculpture. I pulled this one out of the set to color during the *chortle* "slow moments" at the Anime Expo this year. I wanted to actually use the Copic pens I had with me. I discovered I didn't like the face I had given the guy in the back, and that he was actually out of scale with the guy in front and the faun. So, I tore the drawing apart, fixed the mess, checked references for buckskin and dapple grey horses, and finished it with the Copic Sketch Markers. The line art corrections were done in Photoshop 7. As to what the guys are doing, what else are they going to play? Consider polo as football (soccer to all us Yanks) for centaurs. Yes, the faun is giving the centaur a rubdown between playing periods; rather the way a groom would treat a racehorse after a workout.
